THE MARK OF A DISCIPLE
Many people can be known by the uniforms they wear: Police, Nurses, Soldiers, Priests. This grants them instant recognition, protection and willingness to serve. Jesus teaches that all of his followers must wear a uniform that is just as visible. It is not made of cloth or brass. It is a uniform of love. We must be patient, merciful and tolerant, but not aggressive, opportunistic, or over-bearing. People should be able to look at our concern for others and willingness to sacrifice ourselves and say "THAT MUST BE A CHRISTIAN, I CAN TELL." Other people can exercise all these qualities--and should--but our compassion has to be OUTSTANDING!
HEALING
MASS - Wednesday , May 12, at 7:00 p.m., at
Star of the Sea Church, Father Albert MacPherson, OSA, will join us
for Holy Mass with a Service of Healing. For nearly 25 years, Fr.
Albert MacPherson, O.S.A., has travelled the globe on a healing
mission. He takes his special healing ministry to parishes and
provides parish communities with healing Masses and retreats.
Thousands have been helped through his healing ministry -
spiritually, psychologically and physically. It is hoped that this
celebration will help all of us to grow stronger together as a
Christian Community and help us to heal any hurts or wounds from the
past. Everyone will be welcome to come forward for prayers for
healing. As with any Mass, those who are properly disposed may
receive Holy Communion, otherwise one may make an act of Spiritual
Communion.
