WORLD DAY OF PEACE: The World Day of Prayer for Peace is celebrated January 1. We include petitions for peace in the world, for love and goodwill among all the nations, and for light and guidance for civil leaders. The sign of peace in the Mass could be shared more meaningfully. Families are encouraged to pause today to discuss peace and our responsibility to work and pray for it.
Prayer for Peace: Christ, no one on earth really wants the pain and horror of war. We do not want to kill or to be killed, to hurt or to be hurt. But we all see injustice, and sometimes it makes us very angry and we see no other way to right the wrong except by war. Yet we know that a new great war may destroy us all. We feel small and helpless. Christ, teach us the ways of peace! Calm our angry hearts and grant to all peoples and their leaders unending patience in the search for peace and justice. Teach us and all men to be ready to give up some of our comforts and power and pride so that war will leave the face of the earth and we may work for you in peace.

Let us continue to pray for him and for all who are affected by his actions. Available in our churches - Book - “Rediscover Catholicism”; CD - “A Call to Joy” by Matthew Kelly and a MP3 download. MY NEW YEAR PRAYER
Sunshine above you, to brighten each day
Blessings to fill all the year on the way;
Hope to inspire you and Faith to impart
A feeling of gladness deep in your heart -
May these be yours as you start a New Year,
And may His love guide you,
His presence be near.
