REFLECTION ON TODAY’S READINGS - Unto Us, A Child is Born!!!

We are celebrating the birth of a new child. This is how the prophet Isaiah described him, “The government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isa 9:6). His presence on earth brings joy to all (Lk 2:10) because great peace follows the announcement of his birth (Lk 2:14) and his coming would mean good news to the poor, healing for the broken-hearted, deliverance to the captives, sight to the blind, liberty to the prisoners and a year of favour to all (cf. Lk 4:1 8-19). Are you familiar with such things in your own celebration? Counsel to people around you? Are you giving people the reason to believe in the protective and fatherly care of God? Are you a channel for peace? If people do not experience joy after encountering us during this time, then our celebration may be faulty. Let us respond to the joy of Christmas by making sure that even after the celebration, our words, thoughts, and actions will always demonstrate the fact that the Lord is within us.

Lord, give us the spirit of Christmas, that the Word made flesh, and dwelling among us, will always direct our thoughts, words, and actions.

CHRISTMAS MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR:

It is Christmas again. A continuous Christmas without end and beyond season – The perennial birth of Love’. Please share joy during this Christmas. Make a visit (when it is safe to do so), give a card, send a word, or smile. Touch someone’s life today and especially during this never- ending COVID pandemic. Let us all make the effort to be a light that will lighten someone’s darkness during this season of light and joy. Let sadness give place to joy, and despair to hope. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and God’s blessings and protection in the coming New Year.

THANK YOU - To all who have contributed to our parishes, your gifts of time, energy, prayers and finances are much appreciated!!! We are grateful for all you do. Thanks so much!
