WEEKDAY MASSES - There will be no weekday Masses this week.

PLEASE NOTE: The churches of St. Agnes and St. Vincent de Paul are closed for the winter months. MASS will resume the first weekend in May, 2022.

COMMUNION CALLS - If you know of anyone who is unable to get out to Mass and would like to receive Holy Communion, please call the parish office to have their name added to the list.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the high winds, the Star of the Sea Church has lost several windows, please be aware that there may be some bits of broken glass around the church and exercise caution. This is more noted on the side facing the Cemetery. The majority of the glass has been picked up. Thank you and take care.

REFLECTION ON TODAY’S READINGS - Our Unique and Individual Divine Calling There is a saying that ‘God does not call the qualified but qualifies the called.’ This holds true in the call of Isaiah and in the calls of Jesus’ first four disciples. Isaiah saw himself as unfit, saying, ‘I am a man of unclean lips’ when God called him, but his uncleanness did not stop God from calling him. What was necessary was his response and readiness to change. For the first four disciples, they were completely unfit to be in the presence of Jesus, as Peter said: ‘Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.’ The fact remains that willingness to render service to God and to humanity is what God wants from us. He continues to call each of us to leave everything else to do His will and spread the Gospel. As for those whose sight of guilt discourages from answering the call of God, let us seek and find the assurance of God’s mercy in the lives of Isaiah, St. Peter and St. Paul. None of them was without a dark side. Still, God used them. If we are willing to obey his guide, he knows how to take care of our shortcomings. The Lord is asking: “Who shall I send?” He expects you to say: “Here I am Lord, send me!” Just as God is ready ‘to remove our weaknesses and purge our sins’, we must be ready to leave everything hindering us from heeding and answering His call.

NOTICE: This is to inform all the parishioners that I will be away for some weeks visiting my family back home. Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous New Year!

NOTE - The parish office will be open Monday and Thursday mornings, 9:00 - 12:00 (approximately) until Fr. Jonathan returns. Please call or message Marie before coming to the office.
