REFLECTION ON TODAY’S READINGS - LOVE: Our Identity as Disciples of Christ - Lord, your message is clear: our identity card as your disciples is the love, we bear for one another. No amount of prayers, pious practices, or elaborate Liturgies will serve to identify us as your disciples. Even our faith in you is sterile unless it finds expression in acts of true love for our brothers and sisters. You have underscored love in action, not in mere words! The question is: When we come to evaluate our life with this yardstick of love, only then do we realize how far still we have to go in order to become a true disciple of yours. Your love should be the measure of our love for people. The quality of our love too should be the kind you have for us: self-sacrificing, unconditional, and total.
