Confirmation 2011 - youth/parents are encouraged to respond to the invitation to register for preparation to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.

ST. JOSEPH NEWS

Regular Saturday Night Bingo - has resumed and starts at 7:30 p.m. in the parish hall. Money prizes, Building jackpot and Toonie Jar. All are invited to attend, or perhaps offer to help out. It would be greatly appreciated.

STAR OF THE SEA NEWS

Prize Bingo- profits of $787.28 were realized. We would like to thank all of you who supported the Prize Bingos this year. Next Bingo will be Sunday, August 8, Regatta week.

Altar Linens - we are in need of someone to wash and iron the altar linens. This ministry does not take very much time and can be done in your home. If you interested or would like more information please contact the parish office.

125^th Anniversary Committee - will meet Tuesday, July 13 at 7:15 p.m. in vestry of the church. Anyone who would like to donate Flower arrangements to decorate the church for the 125 Anniversary Mass or make a monetary donation in memory of a family member or friend is asked to please contact the parish office. We would like to know so we can coordinate the decorations.

125^TH ANNIVERSARY AUCTION - we are presently seeking hand crafted items for an auction. Suggested items could include Quilts, homemade dolls/bears, Paintings/Illustrations. Carvings, Tole Painted items, Prints./Framed Photography, Pottery, Stained Glass, or any other item a craftsperson would like to donate. Please contact Ginny Boudreau for more information. We have several items to start us off.

Liturgy committee meeting - meeting will be held Monday, August 9 at 6:30 p.m. All committee members are requested to attend.

Parish Council - Next parish council meeting will be held September 7.

Steubenville Conference - Steubenville Atlantic High School Youth Conference for youth finishing Grade 8 up to Grade 12 will be held at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, NS from July 30 - August 1, 2010. Challenge Girls Leadership Summer Camp: August 22-28 for girls ages 10-16 with the goal of providing both fun and formation in a camp experience. A campers week will include physical activities such as kayaking, exercise classes, leadership development, drama, spiritual growth through Mass, the sacraments, and formative talks. Camp will be held at Camp Keir, PEI. Cost is $350, spaces limited to a first come basis. Hosted by the Challenge Girls Leadership Club of PEI.
